Meet The Quilting Chicks
“Sister Chick” aka, Di Cluff
I’ve been Sister Chick since 1992, it’s a long story, maybe one day… I started quilting in 2010 and was instantly hooked, the beautiful fabric, patterns then options and combinations were all consuming. After making my first 3 quilts I wanted more and opened an online quilt shop but closed it to deal with cancer after a few years. I knew the quilting business was where I wanted to be and when an opportunity to purchase a longarm came along I jumped at it and have been happily quilting for customers since 2018. Between myself and my daughter, Michelle, we quilt about 25 quilts a month.
The Right Hand Woman - Michelle
Michelle was just lucky to be born into Sister’s family. And she came without any sewing genes, a birth defect in this family for sure! However her keen eye for color, design and ability to operate the computerized longarm makes her the perfect quilter and Right Hand Woman to Sister Chick. She’s also loves our customers and is a favorite in our studio. In fact there are several who ask for Michelle over Sister Chick. Once a year she dons her chef hat to cook for and spoil us at Sister Chicks Quilt Retreat. The business wouldn’t be as successful with out Michelle.
“The Engineer”
There has to be a rooster in each Hen House and that title falls to The Engineer. He’s the chief video editor, all around tech support, builds things, offers his opinions free of charge and has a zero tolerance for a social media presence. Occasionally, he’ll spell one of us on the longarm and finish a quilt. His sport is making snarky comments on our Youtube videos when he edits them, which gives him one more title, “The Peanut Gallery!”
